Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a very frustrating and debilitating disorder, both for the doctor as well as the patient. It has been our experience that CFS is generally a "garbage" diagnosis, more often then not out of the frustration that occurs with trying to diagnosis a CFS patient. The diagnosis is made when the patient has intractable fatigue and no specific reason(s) can be found for the fatigue.

There are a number of areas which should always be investigated as one, or possibly even more, of the possible causes for CFS. The following areas need always be investigated as any of the possible causes of this debilitating disorder:

    • Food allergy/sensitivity
    • Chronic virus
    • Tissue acidosis (increased levels of lactic and/or pyruvic acid)
    • Mineral insufficiency (Magnesium and Lithium)
    • Poor enterohepatic circulation resulting in an inability to process hormones
    • Primary leaky gut
    • Need for hydrochloric acid
    • Reduced energy production due to carnitine or CoQ10 deficiency
    • Heavy metal body burden
    • Intestinal parasites
    • Candida albicans/Yeast
    • Carbohydrate sensitivity (Vitamin B deficiency syndrome)
    • Kreb’s Cycle deficiency

When all the above have been ruled out as the locus (cause) of the problem and the symptoms are still apparent then there is a program designed and clinically tested which should be considered along with a diet that eliminates fruit juice, alcohol, refined carbohydrates and hydrogenated/partially hydrogenated fats (roasted nuts, butter, etc.) and oils.

New research being done by Marty Hinz, M.D. has found that Neurotransmitter deficiency is a major problem in the world today, leading to depression, migraine headaches, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and many other diseases. He notes that medications work by moving neurotransmitters from one place in the brain to another effectively tricking the brain into thinking it has more neurotransmitters when there are none. Medications do nothing to make more of what the body needs. The only way the body is able to make more neurotransmitter is by taking or eating additional amino acids and their co-factors. Dr. Hinz has developed an amino acid formula that allows the body to correct the problem, not trick it by redistribution. We have been using this formula, and our patients are getting results within a short period of time. Even patients that have reached a modicum of health are now seeing results more quickly.

Since the protocol is fairly sophisticated it would be best to get in touch with our office and remember to consult with a doctor of homeopathy and/or nutritional therapy before starting any recommended protocol.
